Application Process
We consider every animal that we breed here at The Roo Pouch to be a member of our family and we have the animals' best interests at heart. We want to see our joeys go to loving, permanent homes where they will be properly cared for. To help ensure that they are matched with responsible, appropriate owners, we have an extensive application and screening process in place.
Much like the process you go through in adopting a dog we require that those who are interested in purchasing one of our joeys to fill out an application.Be specific in your answers to give us the best possible picture of your home and family. We will review your application and get back to you within 1-2 days.
Sometimes we may have concerns regarding an application, and we reserve the right to deny an application if we feel there is a reason the home would not be appropriate for one of our joeys. If we will not be proceeding with your application, we will do our best to communicate this in a timely fashion.
After we have reviewed your application and have found you to be a fit owner of a joey, we require you to come to our location and spend a day with us caring for a number of our animals to familiarize yourself with the commitment it takes in owning a kangaroo.
We also require future joey owners to have the proper facilities of there own in place to care for their new joey before we send the joey home with them. Once everything is in place we will discuss and schedule a transfer date and time.
We send each joey home with one inner pouch and one outer pouch, one container of Biolac (Milk), a bottle and nipple, and a Happy Hopper Critical Care Toy blocks or socks. Before leaving The Roo Ranch, the joey also receives a thorough health check along with an AVID ID chip.
